Why/When/Where did you start practicing yoga?
I was exposed to yoga practice about 20 years ago when I went to Kripalu for a retreat. I was experiencing some premenopausal hormone imbalance and often in a mild depressed mood. I was looking for a way to balance or ground myself. I found yoga calming and rejuvenating. But I was not a devoted practitioner and did it off and on irregularly.
How has yoga changed/influenced your life?
I started to practice yoga regularly about 10 years ago as a way to add another dimension to my Pilate practice. I viewed Pilates as a strength training and yoga more for flexibility.
What has been your experience practicing at The Yoga Loft?
I found my experience at The Yoga Loft quite unique. I love the ambiance and the soothing voice of the instructor Jeniffer…very enriching. The yoga practice has become spiritual and grounding in addition to the physical flexibility training. I could easily do the practice at home in my own studio but the effect is quite different. I do it at The Yoga Loft where the experience is much richer.
Anything else you wish to share about your yoga journey?
I learned yoga nidra in Kerala India in 2007 on my first visit to India. I was very ill with Dehli Belly. A yogi there tendered my illness and helped me to recover with this amazingly effective healing modality.
