Teacher Spotlight:
Lisa Faia
My company started offering Iyengar classes once a week during our lunch hour. Every week I left feeling inches taller and I was hooked!
What was your first yoga experience?
What made you become a yoga teacher?
Do what you LOVE. I took my first teacher training as a way to deepen my personal practice. I had NO intentions of teaching when I started but by the end of the training I couldn't wait to share my passion. I had a pretty amazing job that over time turned into something I didn’t enjoy doing at all. I knew it was time to shift gears and so I decided to make my passion my career.
Where do you draw inspiration from for your classes?
Of course I’m inspired by teachers and classes I take, but I also drawn inspiration from the students in my classes.
What is your favorite pose and why?
Uttanasana with shoulders at the wall. It’s both supportive and freeing all at the same time.
When I'm not in the studio or home in the kitchen cooking, I’m out trail running with my dog or spending time at the barn with my horse.
What is something you enjoy outside of yoga?
