Why/When/Where did you start practicing yoga?

Many many years ago, probably about 10 years ago, I started to meditate. I had attended a lecture and meditation class taught by Jon Kabot Zinn at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center. Speaking with him, I was struck by his sublime presence. Many people I spoke with at the lecture also had a strong yoga practice. I was intrigued . As serendipity would have it, I was fortunate to then discover The Yoga Loft.

How has yoga changed/influenced your life?

As an artist and  psychotherapist, I am immersed in the creative process. I also consider myself a scientist, and by scientist I mean understanding the connection between cause and effect, I was so excited to start my journey and experience the effect that practicing yoga would have on my life. A profound sensation of deep listening, an incredible sensation of being present in life that I could not have imagined; This is what yoga delivered! I believe that what we do and how we do it has a tremendous ability to impact our lives, hour creativity, how we live.

What has been your experience practicing at The Yoga Loft?

I want to thank you, Julie and Ellory for all the the workshops you offer , the fantastic teachers that continue to inspire in my practice . Who would have thought that doing virtual yoga classes would be such a powerful opportunity to grow, change, learn. Being connected to the yoga community via Zoom, what a gift. I greatly appreciate that you offer  as many online classes as possible.

Anything else you wish to share about your yoga journey?

Yes there is. When i walk into The Yoga Loft, I am  reminded of a quote by one of my favorite scientists, Bertrand Russell, “The Good life Is One Inspired By Love And Guided By Knowledge”. Thank you for your love and guidance.
